Dating an Asian single is great fun, but how do you keep your conversation fresh and interesting so that you’re both engaged?

Getting to know people from another part of the world is great fun and can lead to many interesting conversations. But what do you do when the early chats with your Asian single begin to dry up a little bit?

What is the last movie you watched?

When there is a language barrier present as well, straying away from easily understandable subject areas can make things pretty tough for both parties. You will both want to keep conversations fresh and exciting, but you can begin to overthink it if you get too nervous when things go quiet.

So, to help you out, here are some simple questions that will get her talking about herself and feeling comfortable again. 

What’s your favourite movie?

Okay, so this may seem like a very boring question, but it can lead to so many interesting places. You can also find out a lot about each other. Even if she chooses a very niche Asian movie, you can research it and go and try and find it to watch (with subtitles). The next time you talk, you both have a common thing to talk about. If her favourite movie is more mainstream, then it’s even easier to continue the conversation.

Tell me about your family

Asking your Asian lady to talk about her family will probably really get her talking and definitely keep you both interested. Family is really important in Asia, so have her talk about her family, her extended family and her memories of growing up. You can compare them with your own and talk about common experiences. This topic of conversation also helps to form a deeper bond between you both.

If you could travel to anywhere, where would you go?

Have you ever been to Philippines?

This is a brilliant question which can lead off in so many directions. It can result in talk of shared holidays and honeymoons if it goes really well. But if nothing else, world travel is such an interesting subject. Make sure you can contribute as well as listen to her answers. 

If you could have a superpower for one day, which would you choose?

This one may need asking very simply, but it’s a fun question to answer! If you cannot explain superpowers, maybe ask her which superhero she would most like to be. 

Tell me something unusual about yourself

Finally, this question is useful for learning something unexpected about her, and also getting the laughter flowing. From appearing on TV to meeting someone famous, everybody has that one random story to tell when they are asked a question like this.
